Ya, i dont think it is neccesary for the dribble, but i think that this guy is too far to make the layup without the dribble

    without the dribble …
without the dribble this is wat happens…you pump fake and jump off your left leg if its the left side. The dribble gives you that extra step so you don’t need to worry about getting blocked/fouled

no man watch tim duncan for post moves. He might not be a center but his footwork is better overall than yao’s.

I dunno if this is …
I dunno if this is the same in the NBA, but you shouldn’t have to dribble on that up & under move. Because i ‘think’ you can lift your pivot foot if your shooting, as long as your pivot foot doesn’t touch the floor again (before the ball is released), even if you dribbled to yourself (as long as you don’t double dribble).

    what dominating big …
what dominating big men? shaq doesn’t dominate as much anymore, the centers are dying much like the dinosaurs, the best center in the league(Yao) gets his moves from Hakeem Olajuwon, where you should look for good post moves.

    in theory this move …
in theory this move is legit but against good comp it will get knocked into the stands cause its kinda slow…..best bet when u get da guy on ur hip make a quick spin 2 da opposite side finish with either hand i use this move 24/7 and 85% of the time its good cause it gives the defender no time to react and if he does buy that time ur at the cup…wost case senerio a trip to the line.

    use your body to …
use your body to keep contact then go into the defender, then come the nice soft touch. but you have to practice that over and over 200 with each hand ever other day. if you really work hard and do your drills game speed, you will see rewards.

Pay attention to the dominant big men in the NBA they utilize all of these moves. They dominate with fundmentals or as u call “12 year old moves”

    these moves are ok. …
these moves are ok.. IF UR 12!! i lernt that in our un12 squad team. thort youd be a bit more advanced than that..our team is state champs the point of a sky hook is so they cant reject it..and if they can.. your doin it wrong. that drop step move is absolutely shithouse too! the player is still right behind you and if rey no it properly they will see it comnig and just reject it.When u shoot the hand that balances the ball protects the ball from bein slapped

lol im a tall guy …
lol im a tall guy but I have a problem with shooting jump hooks on the playground because this kid there who is like 5’1″ and has a very accurate hookshot(free-throw line range) always accuses people of copying him whenever they do a hookshot, which makes me laugh and I can’t play laughing

    Watch Kareem …
Watch Kareem perform his sky hook. He usually has his forearm in the way, but he isn’t moving the defender’s hands. It’s about creating space.
